Scrapping Freebie: Vintage Grunge Buttons PU Only

It’s been a crazy little while since I last posted a freebie. Not that I wasn’t making any more freebies and digi scrapping stuff, I was simply distracted with life. How I wish I could say I’ve been learning how to play BBE Guitars but that would be a bit of a stretch since I don’t really have much of a musical aptitude. I was simply swept with life and chores.

A mom and home-maker is one really tough job. The toughest one I had/have ever. Hmm, its also stressful and every so often I find myself frustrated that I cannot do this and that, but then that’s only for a while. I realize I’m lucky and I think feeling like that is normal. Thankfully, I have several hobbies like digi scrapping that keeps me calm and relieves stress.

Right now I’m still digging vintage-y and grunge-y effects. And I made a few buttons (with no holes), I keep thinking of those fabric embossed buttons. My mom used to have dresses before with buttons with floral fabric designs.

This is for Personal Use only (PU only). I was thinking of making it available for any use, but I made use of Crazy-Alice Vintage Floral Patterns on some of the buttons and she only allows Personal Use, so let’s abide with that. Credits also to Ars Grafik for some text brushes used.

Scrapping Freebie: Leaf Pattern Overlay + 8 Papers

Here’s another freebie for everyone. I haven’t done any good enough digi-scrapping stuff lately. Mostly because I’ve been trying to get my things organized. I have a lot of things like brushes, shapes, well the works that I use with Photoshop and Illustrator and I feel like my computer is just one big mess and for awhile I kinda deluded myself into thinking its all part of the job, like I’m holding some blasted Database Designer Jobs and that I’m entitled to being messy. Lol.

But you know, it just occurred to me that I have a hard time finding things that I need with the mess I made. So I’ve been spending a few days now organizing my files. I’m almost done and I feel unbelievably great. Yeah, like I’ve accomplished something! Next up would be backing it all up on a spare portable hard drive in case something goes wrong.

So now I’m feeling a little celebratory, and last night I dashed in made a freebie for everyone. I just love pattern overlays and use them a lot on my Photoshop projects. It’s a great way to add a distinctive factor to any project and its way way my top favorite in adding an extra oomph to my background papers.

Here’s an overlay made with Pretty Leaf patterns I got from PatternCooler.com. It has a transparent background so you can set any color, texture or another pattern as your background. Then you can recolor and style the leaves any way you like. I’m pretty sure you guys can come up with lots and lots of awesome looks with this overlay. Also, I’m feeling extra generous so I’ve thrown in 8 papers (8×8 inches, 300 dpi) made using this overlay.

And oh, thanks to Lost & Taken and Gunhild for some textures I used as background overlays for the papers. This freebie is okay for PU and CU. Enjoy!

Floating in Music

When I’m working on something creative, I like listening to music. Classics, instrumentals are usually my staple music to lull me into a really creative mood. When I was not home for a few months, hubby prepared a really nice surprise for me. He bought me surround speakers!! Yay! for me coz now I feel like I’m floating in music. The downside though is that instead of working I find myself getting sleepy.

I guess I haven’t really adjusted back to my old working schedule. This would take a bit of time. I have actually done installing all the programs I need so I could get back into my graphic designing and digi scrapbooking hobby but I have yet to start a single project. Sigh. A really big sigh. I’m still catching up with a lot of chores around the house. Its really not the same as when I was home and doing the chores myself. I’m still doing spot cleaning and thank God I have my music with me.

Anyway, hopefully I could come up with new scrapping kits and of course freebies for my Tuesday Freebies project. Wish me lots of luck!

Hello Again…

Yup! I’m here after a few weeks of absence. And while its great to be back, I was looking at the blog and sigh! it needs to be updated soon. I haven’t been doing anything creative the past weeks and I’m simply at a loss on where to start again.. Graphic designing and scrapbooking is on hold for at least a few days since I’m using a new computer and I’m still not done installing the software.

While I was away I had been a bit hooked on observing my cousin sew. This definitely rekindled my desire to sew.. not clothes but handbags! Yes, I hope I could find the time to realize this. But first things first I have to learn how to sew and get myself a sewing machine heh. Also, I kinda missed beading jewelry, and this time I feel like I want to work with seed beads and create statement and outrageous pieces. While I was on travel I found myself looking at necklace displays and I’m fascinated. But oh well, I dunno if I could have time for that now that my hands are full with being a mom and wife, maintaining and building blogs, and starting school pretty soon again.

Anyway, as for this site, expect more scrapping freebies and features. Also I’ll be revamping the whole look of the site so watch out for that.

Design Resource: Tartan Maker

I’m itching to go ahead and do something, I’m thinking of coming up with another scrapbooking kit. I’ve spent a few hours already searching for patterns to inspire a new kit. Lol! The crazy crafter in me is hard to please and I’ve amassed and made almost hundreds of patterns that I think I’m going to grow body acne from sitting for hours just poring over the patterns. Thankfully, there are lots of online pattern generators that make pattern and background making a little more easy.

A few days ago, I featured a lovely free design resource called Stripe Generator. Here’s another really cool design generator from the same talented team behind the Stripe Generator. This time, they have the Tartan Maker. I love plaid and tartan prints! So I was in seventh heaven when I saw this.

Using the Tartan Maker is easy as 1-2-3 and you can come up with your own tartan patterns with your color choices. Check it out and start playing!

Scrapping Freebie: 3 Vintage Polaroid Frames CU

If you think I’m over vintage stuff already, think again. I think its my life long obsession! Hahaha.. Anyways, I love polaroid frames but I don’t like the sterile black and white look so whatelse could I do with it but age it, make it old and vintage! Here’s 3 polaroid frames that looks so old and fabulous.

Enjoy! This is CU ok. Please read my TOU included on the zip file.

Featured Digi-Scrapping Resource: Kevin & Amanda’s Fonts

I’m a beginner digital scrapbooker, and there are lots for me to learn and discover about this creative hobby. For me, this is the best part, discovering and learning! I feel like there’s a whole new world just out there waiting for me to be explored. And as I explore, I discover a lot of fantastic resource sites made by really talented awesome people, who takes a lot of time and creative energy to share what they can do, and most for FREE!

These kinds of sites just deserves to be mentioned and shared to others. So I’ll be regularly featuring sites/resources on the crafts I love. Be it crocheting, beading and jewelry and of course, digital scrapbooking.

When it comes to digital scrapbooking, there are several things that can make your project unique. Elements, backgrounds, layout and also the fonts you use.

Since scrapbooking usually is about personal photos, events, then ‘handwritten’ fonts would look really great on it. One of the web’s best resource for free handwriting and scrapbook fonts is Kevin and Amanda. Love the FREE fonts and doodles there.  Their terms of use is equally generous.
