Hi! I’ve been on an extended vacation and has been badly neglecting this blog and digiscrapping hobby. We had been visiting a couple of places and I find it a bit hard to establish a routine or go back to my old routine. I feel like I could just forever be content hanging about near my hammock stand. Sigh. If only one can do that. But realities of life are just so insistent and can’t be ignored any longer.

So here I am trying to update my blogs, sorting out my hundreds of emails received while I wasn’t around. And thankfully, there are some good stuff mixed in on my avalanche emails. I got an emailed coupon for Artscow!

Music in My Mind

I was having this little conversation with my sister about our being musically dis-inclined. Both of us are creative types. Same with my brother. Let’s just say we come from a family of artists. But I think our creative gifts doesn’t extend to music. Lol. All of us are tone deaf.

Though we appreciate music but we all could not play any musical instruments although we did try to do so when we were still young. I guess our musical gifts were inversely proportional to our illustration gifts. No matter how hard I try I could never grasp the how to’s to music much less know what asnark tuner is.

But then again, not everyone can have all ‘gifts’ right? So I’m quite resigned and happy to the fact that the best I can do is appreciate music by listening to it and occasionally humming to it while taking a shower.

Which leads me to conclude that whatever creative gifts we’ve been handed, its best that we try to be better at it. And if there is a way for us to expand and do other things, learn other things, then all the better. But if we aren’t meant to perfect playing the clarinet while being an illustrator, then move on and be happy we were at least talented in one area.

I’m getting ready for Christmas. How about you? I start out early because I don’t like rushing too much. I’d much rather concentrate on food when December comes so the gift shopping I do usually on October-November months. So now I’ve been scouting nice gifts for family and friends. I like giving out personalized stuff, like personalized kids for pillows, ornaments, photobooks, photo bags etc. I guess for me its more memorable and if given something personalized, I would think they took the time out to prepare something special for me.

Got Some Goodies..

I’ll be running a giveaway on my other blog – GirlonaThriftHunt this May. And where else could I get the prizes for giveaway but from my favorite personalized gifts online shop – Artscow. I still have a lot of freebies on my Artscow account and also since I make kits for them I earn cash and the cash I usually don’t withdraw but instead I use it for making my personalized items.

The goodies in store for the giveaway winners? 1 Large canvass bag {just perfect for shopping! my brother commented even his humongous shoes would fit in there..}, 1 matching coin purse, 1 throw pillow case, 1 round mousepad {love this!!!!} and 2 heart fridge magnets.

And what I love most about this? These items would normally cost about $40 but since I have some credits-discounts-coupons, I just paid like $4 for it! I am one very picky and thrifty shopper, so I really think this is a great buy. Watch out for the giveaway announcement on my other blog soon..

Old Beading Hobby

I used to bead a lot. I made stuff for myself, my family until a lot of people wanted to buy what I made. When I was in the Philippines I actually made good money out of my beading hobby. I supplied some stores and also allowed them to re-brand my items. I wasn’t really keen on establishing my own name coz I knew I won’t be doing this for long and well be relocating soon.

But I did enjoy the tinkering bit until it got to a point that I felt like I was taking on too much and the creative juices ran out. But of all things I made, I kinda like the ones I made with leftover beads. hahaha Yeah, weird. I also love seed beading but I don’t think  I have the patience for that anymore.

Anyway, here some leftover bead art I made last time..
